If you’ve never been to the Vulcan Park here are some quick tips:
1. There is a picnic area worth utilizing. Overlook the city and eat a sandwich. It’s a beautiful view.
2. The museum is short and can easily be done in about 10 minutes. However, if you want to make it last longer, ask the guest services attendant for a scavenger hunt sheet.
3. The observation deck is usually windy, atop Vulcan. If you have a child afraid of heights be sure to take into account the catwalk is see through, so it may mess with their head a bit.
4. The best way to get a picture of your family with Vulcan in the background is to take a picture from the parking lot. Have them close to the candle with Vulcan in the background. You can also get a similar angle on the trail close to the road. There are some stairs the kids can stand on, while you take their picture with Vulcan.
