A program that is long overdue started today at three Walmart locations in Hunstville. Walmart.com/grocery offers customers the ability to purchase groceries online and pick up their orders same day at their Walmart location. Here’s a description Walmart reps sent over: ‘The service is fast, and there is no need for customers to even get out of their vehicle, as Walmart associates will load the items into customers’ vehicles.’

Also, if prices in the store decrease between the time an order is placed and when it’s picked up, customers will pay the lower amount.

You can shop via web or mobile device.  You can purchase veggies, meats, dairy and more.

Here are more details:

— Huntsville is one of only five markets in the United States chosen for the retailer’s online grocery shopping test. The other markets include Phoenix, Ariz., which began free pickup earlier this week; Denver, where both home delivery and free pickup are being tested; Bentonville, Ark., where Walmart is offering free pickup; and San Jose, Calif., where delivery to home is being tested.
— In Huntsville, customers can begin placing their orders and picking up their groceries today, Thursday, Feb. 12.
— Tens of thousands of items are eligible, including fresh produce, meats and seafood, dairy, bakery items, and health and beauty products.
— A $30 minimum purchase is required for the free service. To encourage customers to try it, Walmart will offer a $5 off voucher for a customer’s first online purchase of $30 or more.

When placing their online order, Huntsville customers can choose one of the following locations to pick up their groceries:

Walmart Neighborhood Market, 7140 Wall-Triana Highway, Madison.
Walmart Neighborhood Market, 4226 Northwest Oakwood Ave., Huntsville.
Walmart Supercenter, 2900 Memorial Parkway, Huntsville. (coming soon)

If the customer does have a coupon, printed or clipped, they should present it at the time of pick-up.

Don’t forget to use the Savings Catcher Walmart app to enter your purchase and receive a possible e-credit for any price differences.

Now you can earn cash back on your grocery purchases.  Shop through ebates.com (search for Walmart) and get 1 percent cash back on your purchases. Over time this will add up for you, into one nice big fat check – as Ebates likes to call their payouts.
